Samsung claims 2nm foundry order

“This order validates Samsung’s 2nm GAA process technology and Advanced Package technology as an ideal solution for next-generation AI accelerators,” says Samsung  vp  Taejoong Song.

Samsung’s 2nm SF2 process is scheduled for next year for mobile, for 2026 for HPC and for 2027 for auto.

Ten year-old private company Preferred Networks has raised over $100 million mostly from Toyota and Fanuc. The company had revenues of $15.3 million in FY 2024. It develops  AI programmes tailored to the needs of a number of industries.


Although Samsung was the first company to move into production on 3nm GAA it has had continual reports of low yields on it. Last month, ZDNet Korea reported that it had a yield rate of under 20% on its 3nm Exynos processor,
